So simple to make when you use your Cricut! You can even add your own sayings! Cake toppers always add a lot to your table decor - especially when you personalize each and every one of them. These are a very beginner-friendly make and it does not take a lot of time to put them together. You can even use some of your cardstock scraps to cut the hearts or circles.
All the materials can be items you already have on hand. You will also find the template already to go in my resource library (asset #310)

Valentine's Day Cake Toppers Step-by-Step Guide
Step One - Download the Template
To start you will want to download the template (asset #310) from my resource library.
Unzip the file and upload the SVG file only to Cricut Design Space
Step Two - Design Space Changes
Your biggest decision in Design Space will be to decide which cake toppers you want to use and delete the rest.
If you are making double-sided toppers, you will need to duplicate the toppers as well
Don't forget if there is writing on the topper, you will need to select the topper and the writing and attach them so they do not move when you are making these.
Duplicate and attach as many cake toppers as you need.
Save your project and then click on Make It.
You can adjust your mat configurations so you can use different colored paper for each topper. Just rearrange the toppers to suit your own needs, then select your material and cut the toppers.
Step Three - Assembly
Once everything is cut, you will want to pair up the pieces so you can put them together.
For each pair, tape of glue down the dowel to the backside of one piece.
Match up the pieces so the dowel is hidden inside and only sticks out on the bottom (you will use this to stand the topper in the cake).
With everything matched up, carefully glue the backside of each piece together to finish off your topper.
Continue doing this until you have matched and glued dowels into each of your toppers.
Step Four - The Finishing Touches
If you are like me, I did not have a cake ready but I found a big cookie and stuck the dowels into the one cookie so I could show off the toppers.
You could use styrofoam or other material to stand up your toppers and take a photo.

Last Word
This Valentine's Day Cake Topper tutorial is very easy to put together, the toughest part is finding the right dowel. I found that I could also use a straw in place of it. There is no strict rule as to what you can use for the stick portion of this make.
I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did.
